One More Push

Do you know that it’s often right when you’re approaching your breakthrough that you feel completely spent; like you’re standing at the edge with nothing left in you? That’s usually the moment you’re closer than you realize. Breakthroughs don’t arrive quietly. They come with pressure. They come with resistance. They come when you’ve been stretched to your limit.

It’s like childbirth. When the pain feels unbearable, when your body is tired and your mind is whispering I can’t do this anymore; that’s when it’s time for one more push. One more push, and what was hidden begins to show itself. One more push, and what felt impossible finally breathes.

Fear will try to settle in. Doubt will test you. Frustration will grip you and make quitting look reasonable. But Scripture reminds us, “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). What you feel isn’t the full story. What you see isn’t the final word. You are not far; you are right there.

Don’t get to the edge and throw in the towel. Don’t stop because it hurts. Even Jesus reminded us that pressure precedes promise: “In this world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). The resistance you feel isn’t proof you’re failing; it’s often confirmation that something is being birthed.

Take a breath between the pain. Pause if you must, but don’t surrender the promise. Scripture tells us, “Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9). Due season doesn’t come without endurance.

Sometimes release doesn’t come without pressure. Sometimes the very thing you want to escape is the doorway to what you’ve been praying for. “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life” (James 1:12).

So push.

Push past the fear.

Push past the doubt.

Push through the discomfort.

You didn’t come this far to stop here.

 Closing Reflection

If you’re reading this and feel like you’re running on empty, this is your reminder: empty doesn’t mean finished. It means you’ve poured. It means you’ve endured. It means you’re closer than you think. What feels like the breaking point may actually be the birthing point.

Don’t measure this moment by the pain you feel; measure it by the faith it’s requiring of you. God sees the tears you don’t talk about, the silent battles you’ve fought, and the strength it took just to stay standing. You are not overlooked, and this season is not wasted.

So before you decide to quit, pause. Breathe. Re-center yourself in truth. Then gather what’s left and give it one more push. Not because it’s easy; but because what’s on the other side is worth it.

You’re not behind. You’re not failing.

You’re right on time.
